In the today’s world of everyone selling something on social media, it is difficult to stand out from the crowd! Everywhere you scroll someone is trying to sell you their latest skincare product, healthy protein drink, or hair care system, but are they really grabbing your attention and drawing you in to what they are selling?
When you are trying to make yourself known in your industry on social media, it is crucial to create a sense of trust between you and your potential prospects. Think about what draws you in to someone’s Facebook post, instagram post or story, or even someone’s blog. What is it about what they posted that made you stop and click or read more? Use this, and the six ways I share below, to help guide your content creation in your upcoming social media posts!
The first way to create interest with your audience is to create relevancy within what it is you’re selling or posting. Think about what your audience needs and wants and put your focus there. Think about their pain points and what you have to offer them to solve these pain points. For example, if you have a business opportunity that could help a stay-at-home mom make some extra money to help pay the bills, your main focus should be sharing the business opportunity and what it has done for your own life and include keywords for these major pain points in your posts!
The second way to draw your audience in is to personalize, personalize, personalize! Your audience wants to know that you are a real person! They want to know all about you, your life, your business, and where you’ve been in your business. You can personalize through pictures, captions, and especially Instagram stories!
This leads in to the third way to capture your audience which is to tell a story! This is when you really dive in to tell about yourself and the personal story that you want to share. Your caption will be long and this is important to do especially when you have gained a ton of new followers or social media friends! Not every caption on your social media needs to be a long story but you should incorporate this at least once a week!
Using emotion is the fourth way to get your audience to really pay attention to you. Using your audiences pain points and your own personal experiences and pain points is the perfect way to really show emotion on your social media posts. Show your vulnerability and make your audience know that their fears or hesitations are the same as yours.
The fifth way to increase your audience’s engagement is to create curiosity in your posts. You want to create social media posts that pique your audience's interest without giving away all of the information. This creates curiosity and in return makes your audience reach out to you to ask you questions for more information. If you give all the information away in your post then you are missing out on some relevant conversations with your prospects!
The final way to draw your audience in is to utilize the “what’s in it for me” strategy! Your audience wants to know exactly how they are going to benefit from what you have to offer. It’s tough to say but today’s society can be very selfish and people are looking to better “themselves”. Keep this in mind as you’re creating your social media posts! Share information and content that allows your audience to know exactly how you’re going to help them or what you are going to do for them!
Incorporating all of these strategies in to your social media content will definitely increase your audience engagement, but unless you do this consistently with a clear plan you are only setting yourself up for disappointment. These strategies must be used daily to really drive engagement and to keep your audience wanting to come back for more!
